The ferry pulled into Dieppe, and I started stressing that time was getting on – as we sat waiting in the car for the ferry to unload. We eventually set foot on solid soil but, before departing, were greeted by our first supporters – in the form of my Mum and Dad.
After a quick hello and a hug, we were off again – into the darkness. I hadn’t intended to blog twice today, but it was really nice to have some support along the route. No doubt, Mum and Dad will make an appearance later on, but it would be really nice if other supporters were to start joining us on our route (make sure to track the location of Kevin’s Blackberry to find out where we are). We will update our plans for our run into Greenwich (when we hope for a number of runners to join us) tomorrow.
Just for completeness, we finally arrived at our hotel in Brighton at midnight.
Tonight’s statistics:
Distance according to Garmin: 7.29 miles
Time from Newhaven to Lewes (including rests): 1:08:46
Running time: 1:03:24

Thanks simon. Made standing out in the cold for ages worth it. You guys looked fantastic. Good luck for today which we know will bring the biggest challenges but with the star Cath with you sure it will be fine. Hope you get lots of support along the way. You really deserve it. Btw car could do with a clean.
Regarding the car, we had noticed – but nice to see you’re still checking up on me.
